It’s not very often I get to have complete creative control of a project. Although my clients all trust my skills and judgement they normally have some vague idea about what they want. So when I was told by the guys at Slicks Barbers that I could shoot anywhere and anyhow I wanted I knew it was going to be fun.
They intended to show a mix of modern and classic haircuts and convey that they are both timeless. I choose to set the scene in the iconic Glasgow Art Club. The lighting was low and a number of gels were used to set the tone. The emotion of the stern models stilled the air, even in the shots into the lens I wanted to be a mere passive observer.
